Chalkboards Gift Cards

Steps:

1. Click on the 'Gift Card' button on the checkout pane.
2. A dialog will popup, instructing you to scan the card.
3. Scan customer Gift Card. Note, you may also scan Key tags, of phone screens depending on how the gift card was issued. 
4. After a successful scan, close the dialog. 
5. The Gift card balance will be shown in the order totals area. 
6. If the gift card balance is higher than the amount due, only the amount due will be deducted. 
7. If the gift card balance  is lower than the amount due, the whole balance from the card will be deducted, and the order will still have an amount due. 

NOTE: You can scan only while the dialog is showing. 
NOTE: For Dual Screen POS, the dialog may show on the customer screen. 

NOTE: Customers can scan cards themselves, if the scanner is on the customer side. 

It should also be noted that Loyalty and Gift cards can be used interchangeably as the same cards can support either or both functions.
